“What it fixes: on next start, a client that cancels a /_next/image request for a *local* image on a cold cache key can leave that key permanently pending.”

Quiet. No reports in the last two weeks, down from 3 a week at the late-September peak.

Aborted image request hangs its cache key until restart. On next start, a client cancelling a /_next/image request on a cold cache key leaves later requests for that URL with no response.
