Agent panels can't use sidebar
“An extension-contributed agent panel (here, Claude Code) can only live in the primary sidebar, where it stacks underneath the Explorer.”

Extension agent panels cannot dock in the secondary sidebar. Claude Code panel lands under the Explorer in the primary sidebar because the secondary sidebar is "reserved for Cursor's agent UI".

View containers cannot be contributed to the Secondary Side Bar in Cursor. It is reserved for Cursor's agent UI. Contribute to 'activitybar' or 'panel' instead.- Versions
